Updated: Nov 21, 2024

October 23rd at 21:19 hours last night, Taunton Ladder 5 & Engine 6 were activated for a possible Residential Fire in the Fairmount Fire District. The original 911 call was for an appliance fire, but was upgraded due to reports of growing smoke and fire inside the residence. Taunton Car 1 (Chief Phelan), Ladder 5 (LT Duck), and Engine 6 (Captain Martin) responded on the alarm. First arriving Fairmount units encountered smoke showing from the structure and stretched two handlines for suppression while simultaneously assisting the residents outside to safety. Taunton Engine 6’s crew assisted with “opening up” to check for any fire extension while Ladder 5’s crew ventilated the structure. All Taunton units cleared the scene by 22:00 hours.
