1/16/24 at 03:56 hours this morning, Taunton was activated for a possible house fire in the Fairmount Fire District. Taunton Engine 4 (Deputy Chief Harris), Engine 6 (LT. Hind), and Car 1 (Chief Phelan) responded on the alarm. Fairmount Car 1 arrived and transmitted a “Signal 99” with heavy fire showing. Incoming units were advised of possible entrapment as well. Upon arrival, the crew of Taunton Engine 4 conducted VES (vent, enter, search) on the rear side of the structure. With assistance from Solvay

and Fairmount firefighters, two occupants were removed and turned over to awaiting EMS crews. Engine 6’s crew assisted with manpower and overhaul. Taunton units operated on scene for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
