4/28/20 a

t approximately 20:23 hours last night, Taunton, Solvay, and Fairmount units were dispatched to the area of the DMV in the Western Lights Plaza for a possible structure fire. Multiple calls came in reporting heavy black smoke in the area, as well as flames being seen. Taunton Engine 6 responded 2 minutes after dispatch and arrived first due, “laying out” to secure a water supply. The fire was determined to be construction equipment at a nearby business. Engine 6’s crew provided suppression assistance and manpower, and operated on scene for approximately 1 hour before returning to service.
