t 00:39 hours this morning, Taunton was activated for an MVC- Car vs. Pole. Initial callers reported a vehicle that had struck and sheered a telephone pole, with wires down and a vehicle on fire. Taunton Squad 8 (FF. Hind) arrived on scene first and reported that the sole occupant had self extricated, as well as a well involved vehicle fire with wires down. Taunton Engine 4 (LT. Martin), Rescue 1 (FF. R. Smith), and Engine 62 (FF. Kastning) responded and deployed 2 handlines, while awaiting National Grid, subsequently extinguishing the fire when power was secured. Taunton Car 1 (Chief Phelan) had Command and Car 4 (Chief Harris) had Operations. Units operated on scene for roughly 2 hours and patient care was handled by AMR.
